HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's soccer team will travel for its final nonconference test against Vermont on Tuesday, October 18. The Big Green look to ride the wave of momentum from a pair of wins at home last week into their first game against a ranked opponent this season.
The Big Green last took the field on October 15 against the Yale Bulldogs. Dartmouth received goals from three different players, powering past Yale, 3-2, to pick up its first conference win of 2022.

David Alino and
Louis Weisdorf each found the back of the net, while
Costi Christodoulou recorded his fourth win of the season.
The Big Green ride a two-game win streak into Tuesday's matchup with the Catamounts. Dartmouth has scored three goals in each of its last two matches, the first time it has recorded multiple goals in back-to-back contests.
Dartmouth heads to Burlington, Vermont for the first time since 2018. The Big Green have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Catamounts, including last year's matchup by a score of 1-0.
ALEX VAN SCHALKWYK: IVY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior forward
Alex van Schalkwyk earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors following a stellar week of action.
He opened the week with a goal in Dartmouth's 3-0 win over Hartford and followed up with the opening score of the Big Green's 3-2 win over Yale on Saturday, October 15.
van Schalkwyk is the third member of Dartmouth's squad to earn player of the week honors this season, joining
Costi Christodoulou (Sept. 2) and
David Alino (Sept. 26) as recipients of the award.
KEY TO VICTORY: SCORE FIRST
Scoring first has been the key to success for the Big Green this season.
Dartmouth is 4-0-0 when scoring first so far in 2022. The Big Green hold wins over Niagara (1-0), Stonehill (6-0), Hartford (3-0) and Yale (3-2), finding the back of the net first in each contest.
Dartmouth struck first in both of its victories last weekend. In both matches, the Big Green scored in the opening half.
SCOUTING VERMONT
Vermont enters Tuesday's tilt as the No. 12 ranked program in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
The Catamounts hold a record of 11-1-1 and a perfect 4-0-0 mark in the America East Conference. They last took the field in a 4-0 win against NJIT at home on Saturday, October 15.
Fifth year goalkeeper Nathan Silveira holds a save percentage of 0.839, which is the best in the America East Conference and eighth highest in the nation. His goals against average of 0.435 is also the best in the conference and third-best in the country.
The Catamounts are led offensively by junior forward Max Murray, who has recorded seven goals, four assists and 18 points through 13 matches.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE CATAMOUNTS
The Big Green picked up a victory against Vermont last season on October 19, 2021 in Hanover.
A goal from
Finn Callahan in the 35th minute was the difference in the contest.
Costi Christodoulou assisted on Callahan's goal and recorded a four-save shutout in a 1-0 victory.
The Big Green scored their lone shot on goal and were outshot 12-9, as defense lifted Dartmouth to a nonconference win.

Dartmouth holds a 12-match advantage on Vermont in the all-time series, with a record of 26-14-6 against the Catamounts. The series dates back to 1977.
