Will Daley paced the Big Green with a 16th-place finish to earn All-Region honors
NEW YORK — The Dartmouth men's cross country team returned to Van Cortlandt Park in New York for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday afternoon.
The Big Green posted 235 points and took 10th in a field of 33 teams.
"The men had a tough race switching from an 8k to a 10k and they handled themselves very well" said interim head coach Kendra Foley. "This group has battled through a lot of adversity and came out united and strong."
Will Daley led the way for the Big Green, taking 16th with a time of 29:52.8 to earn All-Region honors. Next up for Dartmouth was James Lawrence who finished 46th, posting a time of 30:43.4. Declan O'Scannlain took 54th in 30:50.6. Rounding out the scoring for the Big Green were Liam Jamieson (30:53.0) in 56th and Eric Gibson (30:58.2) in 63rd.
"With a lot of seniors, it's a bittersweet finish to race 10k with your Dartmouth Brothers, but they have so much to be proud of," said Foley. "Congratulations to Will Daley for finishing 16th and receiving All-Region honors! That is a great feat in this region! I'm very proud of this group of men."
Syracuse and Harvard finished first and second to claim the automatic bids at next Saturday's NCAA Championship.
