HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's hockey team fell to Colgate, 5-1, in ECAC Hockey action on Friday evening at the Class of 1965 Arena.

Dartmouth moves to 1-7-1, 1-4-1 while Colgate improves to 7-9-1, 5-2-0.

John Fusco scored the lone goal for the Big Green while
Jack Cameron and
Matt Hubbarde had the assists.
Cooper Black finished with 17 saves while Dartmouth combined to block 11 shots.

Alex DiPaolo, Alex Young, Simon Labelle, Matt Verboon and Daniel Panetta scored for the Raiders. Reid Irwin picked up three assists.

The Raiders jumped out to an early lead inside the opening two minutes. A shot from the point by Reid Irwin was saved by Black, but the rebound fell to DiPaolo in front of goal for the tap-in to give Colgate a 1-0 lead.

Colgate extended the lead midway through the first period with a power play goal from Young. The Raiders added another power play goal minutes later, this time from Labelle.

Dartmouth cut into the deficit early in the second period on the power play. Cameron, from the point, passed it to Hubbarde. Hubbarde played it straight away to Fusco in the middle. Fusco faked a shot that kept the Colgate defender going, giving him just enough space to fire off a shot past Carter Gylander into the net for his first goal with the Big Green. The Raiders tallied their fourth of the night towards the end of the second period.
Facing a three-goal deficit past the midway point of the third period, the Big Green pulled Black with eight minutes to go to try and chip away at the Colgate lead. The Raiders took advantage and were able to score an empty net goal with just over four minutes remaining.

Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow evening with an ECAC Hockey and Ivy League tilt at Cornell. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
