WORCESTER, Mass. – The fourth-ranked Dartmouth heavies rowed away with the Alumni Cup after winning all four of its races against No. 20 Holy Cross, No. 17 Columbia and MIT on Saturday.
The Big Green's 1V started the day off on a good note, completing the course in 5:46.90 and leaving almost 13 seconds between it and the Lions. Dartmouth's 2V won by an even bigger margin, crossing the line in 5:53.87, while Columbia didn't finish for another 17 seconds.
The Green took the top two spots in the 3V, keeping it close the entire time. Dartmouth A won (5:54.1), but B was just over a second behind (5:55.47). In the final race of the day, the Big Green's 4V faced off against Holy Cross. Dartmouth ended up with the win with a time of 6:14.70, while the Crusaders followed in 6:43.96.
Next weekend, Dartmouth will head to Connecticut for a race against Yale.
