DERBY, Conn. – No. 4 Dartmouth heavyweight came second to No. 1 Yale on the Housatonic Saturday, besting the Bulldogs in the 4V.
The home team held on to the Olympic Axe by winning the V8 (5:12.0), being followed soon after by the Bulldogs in 5:17.4. Dartmouth closed the gap a few times during the 2,000-meter race, but it was Yale that ultimately came out on top.
The 2V was incredibly close, with the Bulldogs winning by just two seconds. The Green finished the 3V in 5:25.0, finishing after Yale with its 5:17.8.
The 4V, coxed by
Jessna Brar and stroked by
Billy Lockhart, completed the course in 5:29.8, beating the Elis by over five seconds. In the last race of the day, the 5V, the Big Green were second (5:42.7).
On Saturday, April 23, Dartmouth will race against Brown in Providence.
