PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Dartmouth men's lacrosse team fell to No. 5 Brown, 15-6, in Ivy League action on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Dartmouth finishes the season 4-9, 0-6 while Brown improves to 9-4, 4-2.
Colin McGill led the way for the Big Green, finishing with two goals and one assist for three points.
George Prince also finished with three points as he scored once and setup two goals.
Matt Paul,
Tommy Rogan, and
Colin Prince each scored once.
Daniel Hincks finished with 15 saves, making it the ninth time this season in which he made 10+ saves in a game.
Ryan Aughavin led the Bears with four goals and one assist. Trevor Glavin scored three and assisted another while Devon McLane finished with three points, two goals and one assist. Matthew Gunty was 16-23 on faceoffs and had four ground balls.
Brown opened the scoring just 33 seconds into the first quarter with Aughavin grabbing his first of the afternoon. Rogan tied things up a minute later off an assist from
George Prince. After Brown scored to take the lead back, McGill scored his first of the day to tie it, 2-2, at the 11:06 mark. The Bears added two more before the end of the opening frame.
McGill scored his second to kick off the second quarter, cutting the deficit to one. Brown took control of the game, scoring the next eight goals over the course of the remainder of the second and the third quarter.
The Big Green stopped the scoring drought when
George Prince scored his team-leading 25
th goal of the season with 9:06 remaining. The fourth quarter finished 3-3, with
Colin Prince and
Matt Paul picking up the other two goals.
