HANOVER, N.H. — The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association revealed its All-New England teams today with Dartmouth shortstop
Tyler Cox making the second team. He is the first Big Green player to be named All-New England since the last complete season Dartmouth played in 2019.
Revealed as the Ivy League Rookie of the Year last week, Cox hit .402 on the season to lead the league, rank 12th in the nation currently and become the first Big Green player in 18 years to top .400. The native of Valley Glen, California, collected 10 doubles, a triple, a home run, 41 runs and 40 RBIs while being the 10th toughest batter to strike out in the country. In the field, he committed just seven errors for a .961 fielding percentage to help Dartmouth rank second in fielding in the Ancient Eight.
In Ivy League play, Cox hit safely in 19 of the 21 conference contests to finish the year with a .464 average, easily pacing the circuit to earn the Blair Bat Award as the league's leading hitter. The unanimous All-Ivy League First Team selection booted just one ball for a .981 fielding percentage in those games as well, and he finished the season having reached base in his last 31 games.
As an All-New England selection, Cox will play in the NEIBA New England All-Star Game on Monday, June 6 at noon at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford, Connecticut.
