Throughout the summer, DartmouthSports.com will be focusing on members of the Class of 2024 who are currently in their "Sophomore Summers" presented by the Norwich Inn.
This installment focuses on
Tyler Robinson of baseball. A native of Englewood, Colorado, Robinson started 32 games for the Big Green in the outfield during the 2022 season.
DartmouthSports.com: What have you been doing during your sophomore summer?
Tyler Robinson: I am currently on an off term. I started the summer playing summer baseball for the New Britain Bees in Connecticut. I am currently at home (Denver, Colo.).
DS: If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why?
TR: I would like to swap places with my teammate
Tyler Cox. He is the spark plug of every room he walks into.
DS: If you could play another sport at Dartmouth, what would it be and why?
TR: If I could play another sport, it would probably be tennis. Both of my parents played at the Division I level at the University of Colorado and it would be a cool experience to continue the tennis tradition.
DS: What has been your best on-field memory thus far in your Dartmouth career?
TR: Beating Columbia in walk-off fashion to end our season and take the series. One of the best team wins I've ever been a part of.
DS: How is Hanover different or similar to where you grew up?
TR: I grew up in Denver, Colorado, so many people assume I'm used to winters in Hanover. But I've come to learn nothing can actually prepare you for a Hanover winter.
DS: What show do you binge watch?
TR: Breaking Bad.
DS: What is your hidden talent?
TR: I'm mediocre at juggling. That's about all I've got.
DS: Do you have a nickname on your team? Who gave it to you and why?
TR: My nickname on the team is T-Rob. It was given to me by an old teammate when I was younger but it gets used a lot here because there are three Tyler's in the baseball '24 class.
DS: What would be your best advice to your 15-year-old self?
TR: Don't take life too seriously…enjoy the little moments and it'll all work out.
