HANOVER, N.H. — Head women's rugby coach
Katie Dowty announced today her team's schedule for the fall season.
"With Princeton elevating to NCAA status this year, our Ivy League and NIRA competition slate will be more robust than ever before," Dowty said. "We are looking forward to playing a very full fall schedule and defending our championship titles!"
After opening the season with a scrimmage against Colby-Sawyer on September 1, the defending national champions will play eight regular season contests with all of them coming against National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) opponents.
Dartmouth opens the season on the road for the first two games, facing LIU (Sept. 10) and Sacred Heart (Sept. 17). The Big Green opens its home schedule with two straight matches at Brophy Field, hosting Quinnipiac (Sept. 24) and Army West Point (Oct. 1), a repeat of last season's national championship.
The defending champions hit the road again two more times before returning to home grass. The Big Green will head to Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 8) and Harvard (Oct. 15). Dartmouth hosts fellow Ivy League member and NIRA newcomer Princeton on October 22 before closing out the regular season against Brown on October 29. The NIRA Championship games will take place in November.
