PHILADELPHIA — After finding no shortage of wins on the opening day of the Penn Invitational that saw Dartmouth sweep doubles and win five singles matches, the Dartmouth men's tennis team set its sights on Day 2 in Philadelphia.
Carlos Guerrero Alvarez, after winning in both singles and doubles yesterday, defeated reigning Ivy League Player of the Year Edoardo Graziani, who currently ranks 31st in the country, to highlight the Big Green's action-packed Saturday.
Freshmen shined once again as two rookies won singles matches.
Miles Groom and
Waleed Qadir both notched two-set victories over their Penn opponents.
Logan Chang bounced back from yesterday's singles loss to defeat a Drexel counterpart with a dominant second set.
Guerrero-Alvarez and Groom came close to defeating a Penn tandem, but weren't able to come out on top as the hosts owned the doubles action.
The Penn Invitational wraps up Sunday.
