NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Dartmouth men's cross country team closed out its season on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
The Big Green finished 16
th after collecting 460 points. Iona captured the team title with 40 points and Harvard earned the second automatic qualifying spot after taking second with 57 points.
"We gained a lot of experience today for a core group of young guys," said head coach
Sean McNulty. "We had six guys set a personal best for the 10k distance and that strength is going to pay off big time as we go into indoors."
Albert Velikonja led the Big Green with a time of 30:19.5 to take 31
st in the race.
David Appleton finished 87
th with a time of 31:07.9.
Maclean Hadden finished just a few seconds later, taking 91
st with a time of 31:10.9.
Richie Moreno and
Ashton Bange rounded out the scoring for Dartmouth, taking 129
th and 130
th with times of 31:47.8 and 31:48.4.
Graham Blanks of Harvard won the individual title with a time of 29:31.6.
