NEW YORK, N.Y. — Madeleine Locher and
Emily Levonas collected All-Region honors after finishing in the top 25 as the Dartmouth women's cross country team competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning.
The Big Green took seventh as a team in the event with 190 points. Syracuse won the team title with 98 points while Boston College earned the other automatic qualification after taking second with 109 points.
"I'm so proud of this group. Each of the women who toed the line today had ups and downs this season," said head coach
Kendra Foley. "They trusted the process and they came together, and a coach can't ask for anything more than that. People who look at our team's results instantly notice our strong pack. We're not a team of five scorers, every person on our team matters in the grand scheme, and it takes all of us to accomplish what we have this season."
Locher paced Dartmouth with a time of 20:08.9, narrowly missing out on a top-10 spot to finish in 11
th. Levonas was next for the Big Green, finishing in 20
th with a time of 20:24.9.
Katherine Strong completed the race with a time of 20:52.9 to grab 47
th.
Ellie Tymorek nabbed 53
rd with a time of 20:55.3. Rounding out the scoring for the Big Green was
Natalie Shapiro in 59
th with a time of 21:02.2.
Maia Ramsden of Harvard won the race with a time of 19:24.4
Foley finished by saying, "We're continuing to get closer to those top national competitors, and I couldn't be prouder of their season."
