CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team fell to Harvard (202-97) and Cornell (196-104) on Saturday in Cambridge, but came away with a handful of victories, including
Alexander Ye's outright win in the 200 breast.
Â
"After being the best hype crew for our women at their meet, the men got right to business in the pool," said head coach
Milana Socha. "The pace of this meet was much faster than last week's and they still crushed those times. The performances they've put down this fall have been some of the best in team history and they are just getting started."
Â
Ye's time of 2:00.56 defeated both Harvard and Cornell in the 200 breast, and the junior also picked up a win over Harvard in the 100 breast with a time of 55.71, a personal best and third fastest in program history. He was also part of the 200 medley relay, along with
Colton Rasmussen,
Eddy Chen and
Tim Park, that posted a time of 1:29.97, the fifth best ever for the Big Green.
Â
Dartmouth went 1-2-3 against Cornell in the 200 free with
Isaac Weigel leading the way (1:38.57). The Big Green accomplished the same feat against Harvard in the 200 breast thanks in part to Ye's outright win.
Â
On the 1-meter board, Dartmouth went 1-2 over Cornell with
Everett Tai and
Kyle Schubert earning scores of 272.65 and 272.20, respectively.
Â
Andy Peterson, who picked up a pair of wins in the season opener at Brown, earned a lifetime best and now ranks fourth in program history in the 200 fly after posting a time of 1:48.25.
Colton Rasmussen also picked up a personal best in the 100 back (49.61).
Â
Next up for the Big Green is the Miami Invitational, which begins Thursday, Nov. 30 in Oxford, Ohio.
