Women’s Squash Falls to Harvard in Season Opener

Emily Schuster and Callie Worth took a set in each of their matches
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth women's squash team traveled to Harvard on Wednesday to take on the top-ranked Crimson in the season opener for both teams with Harvard (1-0, 1-0 Ivy) handing the 11th-ranked Big Green (0-1, 0-1 Ivy) a 9-0 defeat at the Murr Center Squash Courts.
Although the Crimson completed a sweep at all nine positions, Callie Worth got off to a good start by taking the first set at No. 8, 12-10. But Molly Stoltz rallied to take the next three sets.
Emily Schuster also took a set at No. 6, evening her match with Brecon Welch at one apiece after winning the second set, 11-9. The final two sets went Welch's way, however, as Schuster came up short, 3-1.
Harvard won each of the other seven positions in straight sets, though Ellie Burke gave Serena Daniel trouble in each of the last two sets before falling, 11-9 and 13-11.
The Big Green women will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 2 when they square off against Georgetown at the University of Virginia's McArthur Squash Center at 3:30 p.m.
