Emily Schuster picked up her second win of the weekend at No. 6
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The seventh-ranked Virginia Cavaliers proved too much for the No. 11 Dartmouth women's squash team on Sunday, winning 8-1. Leading the way for the Big Green was senior Emily Schuster, who improved to 2-0 on the weekend with a hard-fought 3-2 win at the No. 6 position.
After going behind 2-1, Schuster beat UVA's Eliza Mills in the fourth and fifth sets by identical 11-5 scores to pull out the victory.
Senior Priya Verma was ever-so close to winning at the No. 4 position. Trailing 2-1, Verma took the fourth set, 11-8 before Virginia's Maureen Foley outlasted her in the fifth and deciding set, 14-12.
Taking a set each and falling 3-1 was senior Ellie Burke at No. 5, sophomore Callie Worth at No. 8 and first year Zayna Usman at No. 9.
In an exhibition match, junior Aubrey Lennon came back from down 2-0 to win, 3-2.
The Big Green return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 9 when they host Bowdoin at 3 p.m.
