PHILADELPHIA — The Dartmouth women's squash team opened the postseason with a win over No. 15 Amherst in the first round of the Kurtz Cup. The No. 10 Big Green knocked off the Mammoths, 6-3, to move onto the semifinals of their division at the CSA National Collegiate Women's Team Championships.
Claire Aube came through with a strong performance at position No. 1, taking down Daksha Pathak in straight sets to earn her sixth win of the year.
Aube was one of four members of the Big Green to earn a sweep, as
Priya Verma,
Aubrey Lennon and
Callie Worth each dominated their opponents in three frames. Verma and Worth were especially dominant in the fourth and ninth positions, respectively.
Ellie Burke defeated Lauren Weil at position No. 4 after a hard-fought match. Weil won the first frame, 12-10, before Burke rattled off three straight set wins to claim the point for the Big Green.
Chelsea Cho followed in Burke's footsteps, as she recovered from a loss in the opening set to pick up a four-frame win at position No. 7.
