COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —
Ellie Blain and
Tasman Mullins of the Dartmouth volleyball team joined more than 200 athletes nationwide in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Program at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The program, which ran from Feb. 25-26, is used for consideration for selection to both the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team. Several top coaches, including three-time Olympic gold medalist and current U.S. Women's National Team head coach Karch Kiraly, oversaw the program and evaluated talent.
Blain, a junior from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, led the Big Green and ranked sixth in the Ivy League with 3.00 kills per set on her way to Second Team All-Ivy honors. She recorded a season-high 19 kills in the season opener against Sacred Heart at the UC Irvine Invitational and was a driving force behind an unbeaten weekend in the Dartmouth Invitational, being named to the All-Tournament Team.
A sophomore from Manhattan Beach, California, Mullins saw her first collegiate action in 2022 after being sidelined during her freshman year. She appeared in three matches and recorded a career-high eight assists in Dartmouth's win over Columbia on Nov. 5.
