PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth men's tennis team started strong by claiming the doubles point, but was ultimately on the wrong end of a 6-1 decision at No. 52 Princeton on Saturday afternoon at Lenz Tennis Center.
Alex Knox-Jones and
Alejandro Quiles gave the Big Green a 6-2 victory on Court 2 before
Waleed Qadir and
Miles Groom handed Princeton a 6-4 defeat at the top position to seal the doubles point.
Princeton, however, would own singles play, winning on all six courts. A three-set battle by Groom at the No. 3 position fell short after the freshman claimed the second set. Quiles nearly forced a third set, but was edged in a tiebreaker.
Dartmouth concludes its season on Sunday with a trip to No. 50 Penn at 1 p.m.
