HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth volleyball head coach
Kevin Maureen Campbell has announced the hiring of former professional player
Anna Wruck as an assistant coach.
Â
"Anna is a fantastic human being," Campbell said. "Her heart for coaching, her elite playing experience, her curiosity, pursuit of knowledge and life experiences brought her to my attention as someone special who could add incredible value for our student-athletes."
Â
"Anna is a hard worker and has a demonstrated ability to manage on-court training and high-volume administrative responsibilities, along with maintaining relationships and connections with student-athletes. I am honored to have Anna join us here at Dartmouth."
Â
Wruck comes to Hanover after a professional playing career that spanned more than six years and included stops in Hungary, Portugal, Finland, Germany and Brazil. Success has followed her, having recently won a pair of USA Volleyball Open Adult Championships (2022 and 2023) after several other achievements overseas, like finishing atop the Finnish league, winning the Portuguese Cup and helping her team reach the top section in Hungary. She was also the league's top server during her time with Vc Wiesbaden (Germany) after ranking among the league's top 15 blockers during the previous year.
Â
Wruck previously played in New Zealand for the Shirley Silverbacks and won a club national title in 2015. She was also a two-time participant in the New Zealand Pro Beach Volleyball Tour (2016 and 2017). Additionally, Wruck found time to gain coaching experience while in New Zealand at Rangi Ruru Girls School and St. Andrew's College. She most recently served as a travel coach for Gold Medal Squared, roaming the United States to help run camps alongside collegiate and USA program coaches.
Â
An accomplished student-athlete at Tulane, Wruck was named to the 2011 Conference USA All-Freshman Team after leading the Green Wave in blocks. She later helped power the team to a 28-4 record in 2013, representing Tulane's highest winning percentage in program history.
Â
Wruck hails from Corvallis, Oregon and earned her bachelor's degree in public health from Tulane in 2014.
