WATCHUNG, N.J. — The Dartmouth men's golf team opened the 2023-24 season at the Cornell Invitational in Watchung, New Jersey. The Big Green finished the event ranked 10
th in a field of 11 programs.

Sophomore
Aaron Zhang led the Big Green at the Watchung Hills Golf Club, finishing 21
st out of 67 competitors.
Alex Gu followed one stroke behind Zhang, shooting 6-over par over the 36-hole event.

Dartmouth closed the opening round tied for seventh place. The first round of the event was plagued with poor weather conditions, forcing it to be delayed on Saturday due to darkness after 16 holes. The final two holes of the round were played Monday morning.

Fin Szafnauer and Zhang led the way for the Big Green in round one. Szafnauer led the Big Green with a score of 2-over par after 18 holes, while Zhang finished the round one stroke behind his fellow sophomore.
Alex Gu headed into the final round 4-over par, tying him for 30
th in a field of 66 players.

Zhang improved on his first-round score on the final 18 holes of the tournament, shooting 2-over par. Gu also shot a 73 in the second round, as Dartmouth fell to 10
th on the leaderboard.

The Big Green continue their fall season next weekend at the Temple Invitational. Dartmouth kicks off the competition at The 1912 Club on Saturday Sept. 16, with the event concluding on Sunday Sept. 17.
