SAVIN HILL, MASS. – Last weekend, first-year
Chase Decker and junior
Phoebe Lee sailed the B Division of the Open Atlantic Coast Championship, winning the division and helping the Big Green to a second place overall finish.
Â
In the same field as the national championship, Decker, Lee and the Big Green finished with 96 total points, four behind first place Stanford and three ahead of third place Tulane.
Â
Decker and Lee posted only 39 points in the B Division, narrowly beating Stanford's division pair by one point. The pair started the regatta with second place and fourth place finishing positions. Despite earning a BKD in their third race, they collected two fourth place finishing positions over the last three races to secure the win.
Â
The Open Atlantic Coast Championship was only Decker's fifth career race with the Big Green. He opened his career with a first place finish at the Harvard Invitational.
Â
This was Lee's sixth regatta of the season. She was on the team along with Decker that placed first at the Harvard Invitational to open the season while the pair also helped the Big Green to a second place finish earlier in the season at the Danmark Trophy.
Â
Decker, Lee, and the Big Green will return to the water this weekend, wrapping up the fall regular season at Schell Trophy hosted by Yale and the Women's Urn Trophy hosted by Brown.
