Guerrero Alvarez Looks to Advance To Semifinals

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Dartmouth men's tennis saw one player advance to the Ivy League singles tournament quarterfinals on Saturday.
After winning his opening match on Friday, Carlos Guerrero Alvarez completed a sweep in the second round. He defeated Jack McCarthy of Cornell 6-3, 6-1 on Saturday and takes on Alan Kam of Princeton on Sunday in the quarterfinals.
Yujiro Onuma fell in his second found match to Edward Liao of Yale 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday after winning his opening match on Friday.
In doubles action, Denny Bao and Guerrero Alvarez fell in a tight match to a team from Yale 8-6.
Fellow Dartmouth duo Miles Groom and Waleed Qadir fell 8-4 in their second-round match against a team from Penn.
Guerrero Alvarez looks to advance on Sunday with his match against Kam starting at 11 a.m.
