Guerrero Alvarez Advances To Ivy League Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Carlos Guerrero Alvarez of Dartmouth men's tennis secured a spot in the Ivy League singles championship on Sunday with a pair of wins.
Guerrero Alvarez opened his day in the quarterfinals against Alan Kam of Princeton. In the first set he won 6-2 and then closed out the match with a 6-3 win in the second set. With the win he moved on to the semifinals against Felipe Pinzon of Cornell.
Against Pinzon, Guerrero Alvarez won the opening set 7-6. The second set was another back and forth set with Guerrero Alvarez falling 7-6. Guerrero Alvarez punched his ticket to the finals with a 6-3 win in the third set.
Guerrero Alvarez takes on Zhengqing Ji of Yale in the Ivy League Final on Monday.
