PROVIDENCE, R.I. — With the first night of the Ivy League Championships in the books, one program record as already fallen as the Big Green are off to a strong start at Brown.
In the first event of the four-day championship, Jamie Legh,
Kathy Jia,
Lane Murray and
Samantha Li registered a time of 1:40.47, toppling a program record that had stood since the 2018-19 season by more than a second, to place sixth above Columbia and Penn. Legh opened the relay with a lifetime best 25.12 seconds.
Dartmouth placed eighth in the 800 free relay with
Carinn Bethea,
Kathy Jia,
Sydney Rawie and
McLane Gmelich recording a time of 7:24.91. the 10th best in program history.
Both encouraging relay squads featured three first-years.
Thursday will feature the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter dive and 200 free relay. Session 2 (prelims) begin at 11 a.m. and the action will continue to air live on ESPN+.
