PROVIDENCE, R.I. — After breaking a program record on Wednesday, the Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team looked to continue its momentum on Thursday, the second day of the Ivy League Championships at Brown.
First-year
Carinn Bethea qualified for the B Final in the 500 free after swimming a personal-best 4:50.58 in the prelims. In the final, she placed 10th with a time of 4:50.03. Another first-year, diver
Maggie Lambdin, was another B finalist, having placed 12th on the 1-meter board with a score of 2:54.10.
Lane Murray, who was part of the record-breaking 200 medley relay on Wednesday, led the way in the 50 free C Final at a lifetime-best 23.17 seconds.
Julianne Jones was 18th in the 200 IM, competing in the C Final, with a time of 2:02.16.
Sydney Rawie also made an appearance in a C Final, placing 22nd in the 500 free (4:56.50), and
Kathy Jia was 23rd in the 200 IM (2:03.31).
Murray, Jamie Legh,
Lindsey Drumm and
Samantha Li were seventh in the 200 free relay, besting Penn with a time of 1:32.33, a top 10 mark in program history.
Dartmouth currently sits at eighth with 197 points. Princeton still leads, now with 523 points, which tops second-place Harvard by more than 100 points.
The Ivy League Championships resume on Friday with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 400 medley relay.
