HANOVER/LYME, N.H. — The Dartmouth ski team stands in second place after day one of the Dartmouth Carnival, held at the Dartmouth Skiway and the Oak Hill Outdoor Center on Friday. Junior

Olivia Holm each finished third in the giant slalom, helping pace the Big Green men's and women's alpine teams on an unseasonably warm Friday afternoon.
The Big Green's 366 points only trail Vermont's 484. Dartmouth is 51 points ahead of New Hampshire, who stands third.
Holm's combined time of 1:52.31 was good for third place, with fifth-year
Gwen Wattenmaker not far behind in fifth (1:52.62). Holm posted the fastest time of the second run, 55.65 seconds. Junior
Allie Resnick and sophomore
Zoe Zimmermann finished 13th and 14th, respectively, with total times of 1:53.32 and 1:53.34.
For a second straight day, Morgan was the Dartmouth men's top finisher in the giant slalom after a strong performance in Thursday's NCAA Qualifier. On Friday, Morgan's combined time of 1:47.98 was good for third. Teammate, senior
Max Martin also finished in the top 10, placing eighth (1:48.22).
Over at Oak Hill, the Big Green men's Nordic team saw two student-athletes advance to the semifinals of the freestyle sprint and multiple others reach the quarterfinals. In the end, fifth-year
Aaron Power finished in ninth while fifth-year
Cameron Wolfe came in 12th overall.
For the women, sophomore
Amelia Tucker was a semifinalist, finishing seventh and narrowly missing a berth in the finals. Sophomore

Tatum Witter also advanced to the quarterfinals.
