HANOVER, N.H. – First-year pitcher
Marco Dumsky was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week Monday following his stellar performance on the mound during Wednesday night's 3-0 victory at Long Beach State.
In his first start of the season, Dumsky pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits. He walked one batter and collected eight strikeouts en route to his first career collegiate win and the Big Green's first win of the season.
Despite making his first career start, Dumsky has come out of the bullpen twice for the Big Green, once in the opening series against Sam Houston and again against North Florida. In those two relief experiences, Dumsky combined for 2.2 innings pitched and allowed four runs on three hits.
Dumsky and the Big Green will be back in action tonight when they face Pomona-Pitzer. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
