Men’s Heavyweight Rowing Enjoys Strong First Day at Lake Morey Invitational

The Big Green won all but one race against a trio of strong opponents
FAIRLEE, Vt. — The Dartmouth men's heavyweight rowing team won nine of 10 races on day one of the Lake Morey Invitational Saturday, facing Syracuse, Wisconsin and Boston University. The Big Green faced the Orange in the morning before taking on the Badgers and Terriers in the afternoon.
The morning saw tight margins throughout. The Big Green won the second varsity eight against Syracuse by just under a second while winning the 3V by 4.2 seconds and 4V by 2.2 seconds. Dartmouth fell in the varsity eight by only 2.2 seconds.
The Big Green swept the afternoon racing, including multiple by significant margins. That included the 3V posting a time of 6:25.0, ahead of Wisconsin in second (6:40.3) and Georgetown in third (6:44.0).
