HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green sailing team competed in two regattas this weekend, traveling to Brown and Yale to compete in the NEISA Open Team Race Championship and the Yale Women's Team Race. Dartmouth was consistent in both races, finishing in the middle of competitors at both regattas.
At the NEISA Open Team Race Championship for the Fowle Trophy, the Big Green finished the two days of racing in sixth place.
In round one, Dartmouth finished in a five-way tie for first place, sitting at 8-3 to qualify for the Top 8 round that raced on Sunday. They secured the first finishing position in six of the eight races they won, including sweeping the top three finishing positions against Yale.
On Sunday, the Big Green competed in the Top 8, winning their race against Brown with first place, second place. And fourth place finishing positions. They were able to secure first place finishing positions against Yale and Boston College but were unable to secure the victories, going 1-6 in the round of eight.
The Big Green then competed in the Top 6 where they won two races, finishing in the second, third and fourth positions against Harvard and sweeping the top three finishing positions against MIT for their two wins. The two wins secured a sixth-place finish at the regatta for the Big Green.

Madeline Koelbel, and
Phoebe Lee combined for a third-place finish, posting a 9-6 record at the regatta.
In rounds one and two, the Big Green lost only one race, collecting first place finishing positions in each of the eight races they won. The only two teams the Big Green lost two in the first two rounds were Yale and Brown, the two teams to finish above them in the final standings.
The Big Green won one race in the final round, defeating MIT with first place, second place, and fourth place finishes, good for a third-place finish at the regatta.
Dartmouth will race in three regattas this upcoming weekend, competing at the New England Women's Team Race Championship at Harvard, the Thompson Trophy Team race at Connecticut College, and the Central 4 Fleet Race at Tufts.
