BOSTON — The Dartmouth women's cross country team continued its early-season success by winning its third event in as many tries, this time capturing the Codfish Bowl on Saturday. The top four finishers were Big Green, led by senior
Ellie Tymorek, and seven of the top 17.
"A small squad of the men's and women's team braved the cold and rain today at Franklin Park in true cross-country style," said Interim Cross Country/Distance Coach Ben True '08. "
Ellie Tymorek led a Dartmouth podium sweep with Esme Daplyn in second and
Claire McDonald in third. Connor Foley won the men's 8k in his first college race."
Tymorek finished the 5K in 18:22.0, more than 17 seconds ahead of her teammate, first-year Esme Daplyn in second (18:39.4). Sophomore
Claire McDonald was third (18:57.6) followed by first-year Annie Plflaum in fourth (18:59.5).
Sophomore
Erin Karas came in ninth with a time of 19:16.5.
Junior
Sofia Abrego placed 16th (19:39.4) followed by first-year
Virginia Averyt in 17th (19:36.6).
The Big Green return to action in two weekends, competing in the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Saturday, Oct. 5.
