NEW YORK - The No. 11 Dartmouth women's squash team was defeated by No. 9 Columbia on Sunday, falling 7-2. The Big Green picked up two wins at the second and eighth positions.Â
The Lions opened the match with a 3-0 win, but Ellie Clifford quickly tied it with a hard fought 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 7-11, 11-6 victory at No. 2.Â
Chelsea Cho won her first game 11-8 at No. 3, but ended up falling short in the final three against Columbia's Eva SalzmanÂ
Maya Shroff also fought hard, winning her second game 11-7 at the seventh position. The final two games were close (13-11, 11-7), but Columbia wound up clinching the set.Â
Kriti Muthu grabbed the other win for Dartmouth at No. 8, completing a 3-0 sweep (13-11, 11-2 11-9) against Columbia's Sophia Hu.Â
Similarly, Devon Glaser swept Columbia's Shaivi Rau 11-9, 11-6, 11-2 in an exhibition.
The Big Green will travel to Medford, Mass. on Wednesday to face Tufts at 4 p.m.Â
