Ozel and Croteau Named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week

HANOVER, N.H.-- Zeynep Özel of Dartmouth women's basketball and Emmett Croteau of men's hockey have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.

Zeynep Ozel, Sophomore, Istanbul, Turkey, Women's Basketball

Zeynep Ozel scored a team-high 15 points at Vermont, the defending America East Champions. She added four rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Big Green led for more than 20 minutes and nearly upset the Catamounts. She hit a big 3-pointer in the final five minutes to put the Big Green up by six, finishing with seven points in the fourth quarter alone.

Emmett Croteau, Junior, Bonnyville, Alberta, Men's Hockey

Emmett Croteau made 19 saves in Dartmouth's 4-1 win over Arizona State on Sunday. The junior made five saves in the opening frame before making 12 in the second period. He secured the win by making eight saves on eight shots in the third period for the Big Green. On Tuesday, he was named ECAC Goalie of the Week. This season he has a 1.14 goals against average and a .953 save percentage, both lead all of Division I.
