OAKLAND, Mich. — The Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team rewrote the record books at the Golden Grizzly Classic, which ended on Saturday. The Big Green as a team finished second overall, less than 15 points behind first place.
Dartmouth finished with 2,076.5 points, behind Grand Canyon's 2,091 in first. The Big Green were ahead of Oakland (1,786) and Wayne State (1,209.5).
"Our men rose to the occasion and got after it this week against some very strong competing teams," said head coach
Milana Socha. "We fell just shy of the overall victory, which certainly stings given how close we have been to wins the past few competitions. Even though we didn't walk away with the team title, the men were on fire all week. We've never set so many team and pool records, especially by so many different individuals, before in a meet. We saw strength in depth for a championship format and have clear direction for Ivy impact performances. This was the best meet the men's program has had in a long time and those team wins are just around the corner."
