Four Players Named To First Team
HANOVER, N.H.—NIRA announced its All-NIRA teams on Friday. Eight members of the Big Green were named to the All-NIRA team. Annie Henrich, Asialeata Meni, Sadie Schier, and Cindy Taulava were named to the first team. Katelyn Walker, Abbey Savin, and Vanessa Ortiz-Pallen were named to the second team. First-Year Vasiti Turagavou was an All-NIRA honorable mention.
Henrich is the only first-year on the All-NIRA First Team. In her first season at Dartmouth the Orchard Park, N.Y. native had a team high 113 points with nine tries, 31 conversions, and two penalty kicks.
Meni notched her third straight All-NIRA First Team selection at the number six position. She tallied four tries in her final 15s season with the Big Green. She finishes her 15s career with 115 career points on 23 tries for the Big Green.
Schier was dominate for the Big Green this season at the nine spot. The second-year captain notched one try this season. It is her second straight season that she has been named to the All-NIRA team.
Taulava notched her first career All-NIRA First Team selection in 2024 after being named an All-NIRA honorable mention as a first-year in 2023. The San Leandro, Calif. native tallied three tries in 2024 and now has 12 in her career.
Walker was second on the team in tries as a junior in 2024, she scored eight tries for 40 points. She opened the season with three tries against Army on Aug. 31. Through three seasons with the Big Green the Eagle, Idaho native has 16 tries. This is her first All-NIRA honor.
Savin earned her third All-NIRA honor in 2024 and her second All-NIRA Second Team honor. In her four-year career she had 59 conversions in 15s. In 2024, she notched two points while playing at the 10.
Ortiz-Pallen had a breakout 15s season for the Big Green in 2024 as she played as the two. She tallied three conversions after making her first start against Princeton on Sept. 15. It is her first career NIRA postseason honor.
Turagavou was a key player for the Big Green in her first season in Hanover. The Provo, Utah native tallied four tries for the Big Green at the 13 position. She notched her first career try against Princeton on Sept. 14.
It is the second straight season that Dartmouth has landed eight student-athletes on the All-NIRA teams.
