HANOVER, N.H.- Alpine and Nordic skiers continued to dominate the course on Saturday, earning four podiums on their way to a win at the Dartmouth Carnival, their fourth straight EISA Carnival win.
Dartmouth's most successful race was the men's giant slalom, earning two podium finishes.
Benny Brown led the way for the Big Green, finishing first with a time of 1:55.84. Teammate
Oscar Zimmer was right on his heels, coming in second with a 1:55.93.
Heming Sola and
Dan Gillis also finished in the top ten for the Big Green. Sola finished sixth with a 1:56.94 while Gillis rounded out the top ten with a 1:57.43.
Oliver Morgan (1:57.63),
Louis Latulippe (2:00.29), and
Jordan Simon (2:01.13) also finished the two runs for the Big Green.
On the women's side,
Carly Elsinger was the first Big Green finisher, coming in sixth overall with a 2:00.71.
Izzy Washburn was less than a second behind, finishing eighth with a 2:01.36.
The next five Big Green finishers all posted times within a second of each other.
Zoe Zimmermann (2:01.77),
Sammi Trudeau (2:02.11), Noémie Longchamps (2:02.34),
Emma Resnick (2:02.39), and
Riley Grosdidier (2:02.52) all finished in the top-20.
Dartmouth also saw success at Oak Hill in the 7.5K.
Luke Allan continued to shine for the Big Green, earning his seventh podium of the season and fifth first-place finish. Allan finished the race in 46:12.7, just tenths of a second ahead of teammate and reigning national champion
John Steel Hagenbuch. Hagenbuch finished second overall, posting a 46:21.8.
Aidan Jacobus matched his highest finish of the season, finishing sixth with a 46:59.3. Just behind was
Cooper Camp (47:09.3) in ninth to close the top-10.
Dustin Hay (47:16.6),
Asa Chalmers (49:26.6),
Wally Magill (49:50.1), and
Jack Lange (50:30.0) also finished for the Big Green.
Ava Thurston led the way for the women's Nordic squad, finishing fourth overall with a 52:16.3.
Amelia Tucker posted a 52:46.6, good for eighth.
Evie Walton and
Tatum Witter finished back-to-back for the Big Green, posting a 52:54.6 and a 52:55.2 for tenth and 11
th respectively.
Emma Reeder (53:50.5),
Virginia Cobb (57:32.7), and
Hannah Chipman (1:02:42.2) also finished the race for the Big Green.
Dartmouth skiing returns to action next weekend, February 14 and 15 when they head to Vermont for the Middlebury Carnival. Nordic skiers will race the sprint on Friday followed by the 10K on Saturday.
