HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green continued their spring season at the Aaron Szambecki Team Race hosted by Navy and the Georgetown Women's Team Race at Georgetown this past weekend, earning fifth and third place finishes respectively.

In Maryland, Dartmouth posted a 7-7 record overall across three rounds of racing. In Round 1, the Big Green went 4-5 collecting wins against Miami, Fordham, Old Dominion, and George Washington.

Alexandra Pierce, Ben Sheppard,
Lilly Baker,
Ryan Satterberg, and
Phoebe Lee had first plat finishing positions in three of their four round one wins. The Big Green went 1-4-5 against Miami, 1-2-5 against Fordham 2-3-4 against Old Dominion, and 1-2-6 against George Washington.

In the Top 6 Sailoff, Dartmouth won its lone race against Miami, collecting second, third, and fourth finishing positions to advance to Top 6 racing.

The Big Green posted a winning record through their final rounds of racing, going 3-2 with wins over Tulane, Stanford, and Boston College. Dartmouth earned first, second and fifth finishing positions over Tulane and Stanford, and first, third and fourth against Boston College, bouncing back from a loss to the Eagles in Round 1. In the Top 6, the Big Green also earned a first place finishing position against Navy, but were unable to secure the victory.

In Washington, D.C., Dartmouth went 9-5 overall to secure third place at the Georgetown Women's Team Race.

Sophie Menyhart went 5-2 in Round 1 of sailing. The Big Green earned wins over Fordham, Hobart and William, Navy, Tufts, and Penn. Casaretto and Benjamin earned first-place finishing positions in three of the five races: against Fordham, Hobart and William, and Navy.

In Round 2, the Big Green posted a winning record again, finishing 4-3, defeating Cornell for the first time of the regatta, and Fordham, Hobart and William, and Navy for the second time. Dartmouth went 2-3-4 against Cornell and Navy and earned first place finishes against Fordham and Hobart and William

Through 16 races, the Big Green and Tufts Jumbos were tied at 9-5 and competed in a sailoff for third place. Dartmouth defeated Tufts in round one (2-3-4) but fell to the Jumbos in Round 2 (3-4-5).

The Big Green earned first, second, and fourth place finishing positions in the sailoff to beat the Jumbos and secure third place overall in the regatta.

Dartmouth will return to the water next weekend for the third weekend of the Spring Season. The Big Green will head to MIT for the Marchiando Team Race and to Brown for the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race. Dartmouth earned second place at the Marchiando and third at the Dellenbaugh last season.
