KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Thursday, the United Soccer Coaches Association announced the 2025 Hermann Trophy Watch List, recognizing junior
Vasilis Moiras as one of the 29 Division I men's soccer players named to the list.
The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and recognizes the National Player of the Year. The watch list and winner is determined by voting of Division I Coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
The list is named after Robert Hermann who founded the National Professional Soccer League, the first professional soccer league in the United States.
Moiras was a First-Team All-Ivy honoree in 2024 after playing in 14 games for the Big Green. He tallied six goals and two assists for 14 total points, matching his first-year total and ranking second overall on the team.
He scored his first goal of the season in the opener at Boston College, followed by a three-point performance in the home opener against Fairleigh Dickinson. During conference play, Moiras scored the game winner against Brown, added a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Yale, and brought the Big Green back from two down with two goals at #20 Penn.
Moiras is one of five Ivy League student-athletes represented on this year's watch list, accompanied by Andrew Johnson and Connor Miller of Cornell, Guiliano Fravolini Whitchurch of Princeton, and Jack-Ryan Jeremiah of Penn.
Following the 2025 season and All-America voting, 15 players will be named Hermann Trophy semifinalists. Head coaches will cast votes on the 15 semifinalists to name three finalists. The 2025 recipient will be announced on January 9, 2026.
