SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Santa Clara on Sunday afternoon at Stevens Stadium, marking its first loss of the season.
The match was hard-fought, with the teams going back and forth through the first 45 minutes of play. First-year goalkeeper Paige Knoth made two saves in the first half.
Entering the second half, the Broncos put a point on the board when Kennedy Schoennauer found the back of the net in the 78th minute. Dartmouth outshot Santa Clara 7-5 in the final 45 minutes of play, but was unable to tie the game.
The Big Green will travel back home to host Colgate at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, for First Responder Appreciation Night and Mental Health Awareness. First responders will receive free admission.
