PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth men's swim and dive concluded the 2026 Ivy League Championship this weekend, claiming seventh overall.
The Big Green posted 12 lifetime finishes on the final day of the meet, as Dartmouth posted 694 total points.
The final day of the championship started with the 200-yard backstroke prelim. The Big Green were led by
Andrew Chou who landed a spot in the A-final, finishing sixth overall with a time of 1:41.87 and setting a new program record.
Tommy Erwin claimed a spot in the B-final, finishing in 1:44.94, just over two seconds faster than his seed time. The Big Green also had two swimmers claim spots in the C-final,
Reed Wallace (1:45.83) and
Andy Peterson (1:46.08). All four Dartmouth skiers swam lifetime bests in the prelims.
Erwin's time now ranks third all time, Chou's fifth, and Wallace seventh.
In the 100-yard freestyle prelim,
Colton Rasmussen was the first Big Green swimmer to finish, touching in 44.26.
William McClelland and
Isaac Weigel also competed for Dartmouth finishing in 44.30 and 44.71 respectively, but Dartmouth was unable to have a swimmer qualify for the finals.
Despite not qualifying for the finals, McClelland's 44.30 is a lifetime best and ranks third all time.
The 200-yard breaststroke was next, as
Jihoon Jung continued to impress, claiming the final spot in the A-final with a prelim time of 1:56.66, a lifetime best that ranks second all time in program history.
David Kushnirsky claimed a spot in the C-final, finishing in 2:03.48.
David Gal led the way in the 200-yard butterfly, earning the second highest spot in the B-final, finishing in 1:44.77, over two seconds faster than his seed time.
Yan Dvoretskiy and
Jacob Turner claimed the final two B-final spots, finishing in 1:45.22 and 1:45.53. Peterson also claimed a spot in the C-final for the Big Green, finishing in 1:47.01.
Jagger Stachitaris and
Aiden Sandvig also swam the 200-butterfly but did not qualify for the finals. Stachitaris finished in 1:47.37 while Sandvig touched in 1:48.30, a lifetime best that ranks fourth in program history.
Entering the finals on day four of the 2026 Ivy League Championship, the Big Green were in seventh place with 466 total points.
The finals began with the 1650-yard freestyle. Erwin claimed C-final points for Dartmouth, finishing in 15:21.48.
Xavier Orlic and
Ronan Fahey also swam the race for the Big Green, as Orlic swam a lifetime best.
In the 200-back finals, Chou claimed sixth overall in the A-final, finishing in 1:42.53 to score valuable pints for the Big Green. In the B-final, Erwin finished in 1:45.94 while Peterson and Wallace finished in the C-final, posting times of 1:45.04 and 1:46.14 respectively.
Jung led the Big Green in the 200 yard breaststroke, finishing seventh overall with a time of 1:56.72. Kushnirsky scored c-final points, finishing in 2:01.05, a time that is good for ninth best all time..
In the 200-yard butterfly, Turner finished second overall in the B-final, touching in 1:44.19. His swim at the championship was both a lifetime best, and ranks third in program history. Gal also finished in the B-final, swimming a 1:46.86. Peterson claimed the final spot in the C-final, finishing in 1:48.32.
The 3-meter dive also wrapped up Saturday, as
McCoy Lyman earned a spot on the podium, third overall, with a score of 351.50.
The 400-yard freestyle concluded the 2026 Ivy League Championship as McClelland, Weigel, Rasmussen and Dvoretskiy finished in 2:56.66. McClelland swam a lifetime best split, helping the Big Green to the third best relay time in program history.
The Big Green concluded the championship in seventh, scoring 694 total points. This is the first time in 12 years Dartmouth has finished in seventh.
