INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Dartmouth women's rugby began play in the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) 7s National Championship, Saturday, looking to defend its 2025 title.
The Big Green played to a 2-0 pool play record, defeating both Lindenwood and Mount St. Mary's, advancing to the quarterfinal.
In their first match of the day against Lions, the Big Green played to a 17-14 win.
Arielle Fotso led the way with two tries for ten total points.
Annie Henrich scored the other seven points for the Big Green, adding one try and a conversion.
The Big Green then went on to post a 24-7 win over Mount St. Mary's, improving to 2-0 in pool play and advancing to the quarterfinals. Dartmouth saw five players find their way on the scoresheet.
Marley Larkin scored two tries to lead the team with ten total points while
Jordis Lomu and
Katelyn Walker added the team's other two tries, tallying five points each. Henrich and
Hehea Pulotu each added a conversion, as Henrich brought her tournament total to nine points.
Dartmouth was slated to play Life in the quarterfinals, the team they beat 31-0 to win the national championship last year. This time, the match was a bit more even as Life came away with the victory, defeating Dartmouth, 24-12.
Vasiti Turagavou scored her first try of the day while Walker added her second. Henrich made one conversion in the loss.
Henrich led the way in scoring with 11 total points, one try and three conversions. Fotso (10), Larkin (10), and Walker (10) also finished with double digit points.
The Big Green will play in the fifth place game on Sunday, April 26.
