PRINCETON, N.J. - On Monday, the Ivy League announced its weekly awards, recognizing
Henry Murray as the league's Rookie of the Week. This is Murray's first Ivy League honor.
The first-year dominated at the plate this past weekend, racking up seven hits for a .636 batting average, scoring three runs, recording three RBI, and drawing a walk.
In the first game of the series with the Big Red, Murray went 3-for-4 at the plate, recording half of all of Dartmouth's hits. He was also the only member of the Big Green to have more than one hit.
During game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Murray went 2-for-4, giving Dartmouth the lead in the sixth inning after hitting his first collegiate home run, a two-run shot.
Murray wrapped the series with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, scoring two runs and adding an RBI in the Big Green's 15-0 series finale win.
After the weekend, Murray boasts a .309 batting average and .436 slugging percentage, both the team highs.
Murray and the Big Green will be back in action Wednesday, April 8 facing the Boston College Eagles on the road before returning to Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park to host the Brown Bears for another Ivy League weekend.
