Cooke Award, which is bestowed upon the four-year letter winner who has done the most for Big Green baseball during his career … one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award … led the team in wins (4), starts on the mound (10) and innings pitched (68.2, sixth in the Ivy League) … tied for the conference lead with two complete games as well … began the year with a quality start in the season opener at UTSA, allowing three runs over 7.1 innings to pick up a 4-3 win … struck out a season-high five batters in just 4.2 innings in a rain-shortened game against Tulane … hurled eight frames of two-run ball in the Ivy League opener against Princeton, striking out four, as the Big Green cruised to a 23-3 triumph … left the 21-inning marathon against Penn with a 6-5 lead in the seventh … registered back-to-back quality starts at Brown and versus Harvard, tossing seven innings in each outing while yielding two three runs (two earned) against the Bears and one against the Crimson … got the win in the 6-4 victory over Brown, but did not get a decision in the 2-1 loss to Harvard … earned Dartmouth’s lone victory in the series against Yale, providing eight innings with four strikeouts in the 7-5 contest … pitched a career-high nine innings in a complete-game effort to start the series with Cornell, but ended up on the wrong side of an 8-6 score.
JUNIOR (2018)
Co-captain …All-Ivy League honorable mention starting pitcher … led the team and was third in the conference with five wins … also fourth among Ivy pitchers with 70.0 innings and in fewest walks per nine innings issued (1.80) ... pitched at least six innings in eight of his 11 starts as the staff ace … Dartmouth won six of his seven conference starts, four by one run and another by two as he pitched well in tight ball games all season … opened the year by surrendering just two earned runs in five frames at Georgia Tech … dominated Villanova in his next start, striking out a career-high 10 batters while allowing three runs (only one earned) in seven stanzas of a 12-7 victory … posted another quality start at Cal State Bakersfield, hurling a career-high eight innings without a walk in a complete-game, 4-1 defeat … picked up a win in the Ivy League opener at Penn, surrendering three runs over seven innings with six strikeouts and no walks in the 5-4 triumph … knocked off Columbia the next weekend in a 5-4 victory, tossing six stanzas of four-run ball … was sharper at Cornell, yielding only two runs over seven frames while fanning four to pick up the 4-2 win … did not get a decision against Brown despite tossing shutout ball for seven innings, needing just 87 pitches to do so … did not walk a batter in his final two starts, beating Princeton in his only blowout win, 14-3, and getting a no-decision at Harvard in a 6-5 victory in which he fanned five in five frames.
SOPHOMORE (2017)
Tied for the team lead with nine starts while ranking second in innings pitched (46.1) … walked 1.75 batters per nine innings, fifth-lowest in the Ivy League and 67th nationally … surrendered no more than three earned runs in eight of his nine starts … Big Green went 4-5 in his starts with three of the losses by a single run … opened the season by yielding four runs, two earned, over five frames and left with the score tied in an 8-7 loss to St. Bonaventure … came back to throw four innings at 17th-ranked Miami, allowing just two runs with a pair of strikeouts … collected first collegiate win with a quality start at The Citadel, giving up two runs over six stanzas on five hits and one walk to go with two punchouts in a 7-2 triumph … matched a personal best with six strikeouts without a walk in a five-inning start against Columbia, starting a three-start win streak in the 9-2 final … beat Princeton the next time out by allowing three earned runs on six hits over five frames in a 7-6 victory … best stat was the following weekend against Brown, hurling seven innings of one-run ball on five hits with two strikeouts and nary a walk for a 7-1 win … pitched well enough to beat Harvard in his final outing, yielding just one run in 5.1 innings on three hits and two walks to go with three whiffs.
FRESHMAN (2016)
Named the Big Green’s Rookie of the Year … second on the team in innings pitched as a rookie with six of his eight starts coming in Ivy League play ... boasted a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.5, fourth-best in the conference among pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched ... did not give up an unearned run all year ... fanned five in just three innings out of the bullpen in collegiate debut against Villanova ... twirled a scoreless stanza against top-ranked Florida ... did not get a decision in a 7-2 loss to Bradley despite yielding just two runs over five frames with a season-high six strikeouts ... hurled a season-best 7.1 innings while surrendering three runs on just five hits in tough-luck 4-0 loss at USF ... allowed only one run over five frames at Princeton in an extra-inning defeat ... Big Green won each of his final four starts during which he gave up a mere two runs in 14.0 innings (1.29 ERA).
HIGH SCHOOL
Three-sport athlete at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, lettering all four years in baseball for coach Rick Foresteire ... captained the team his senior year to an Independent School League (ISL) Championship with a 14-1 record while earning ISL co-MVP honors and ISL All-Star status from the Boston Globe as well as first-team all-league and all-scholastic ... also recipient of The Nichols Prize, awarded to the BB&N athlete who attains the highest distinction in scholarship and athletics ...
