Sailing - Open & Women's
vs Danmark Trophy
Why Dartmouth?
I loved New Hampshire and the rural setting of Dartmouth. Dartmouth was also the perfect size and close to lots of fun outdoors activities!
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
Having spent most my summers in Jamestown, RI, I've been around a lot of sailing. I took a class in Hunters at Sail New port and also raced on my uncle's J-22. I had not sailed competitively in dinghies before college.
What Sailing or Academic achievements are you particularly proud of?
Sailing at the Boston Dinghy Cup last spring after a hard-working and productive spring break trip was a really rewarding experience!
Tell us something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I'm a practicing Quaker and regularly attend meetings at college. My teammates probably know everything quirky about me.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
I'm currently exploring careers in communications at several environmental consulting firms and would like to eventually go on to graduate school. I hope to stay on the east coast and to continue sailing after college.
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
I danced for 14 years before coming to Dartmouth, focusing on classical ballet in high school. I also enjoying hiking, skiing and water-skiing and knew I would have the opportunity to continue these in college.
