Bio
Senior (2012): An injury midway through the season cut Del Balso's year and career short ... played in eight games, starting four ... scored one goal and had one assist for two points ... finished second on the team in ground balls with 33 ... caused two turnovers ... won 60 of his 132 faceoffs ... ended his career with 129 ground balls, five goals, four assists and nine points.
Junior (2011): Played in all 14 games, starting one ... took most of the faceoffs for the Big Green, winning 139 of 292 faceoffs for .476 percentage ... led Dartmouth with 75 ground balls, which set a new career high ... had four goals and one assist for five points ... scored his first collegiate goal in the opening game of the regular season against Colgate on Feb. 26 ... caused two turnovers ... committed two penalties for two minutes ... took 15 shots ... in Ivy League play, he had one goal and one assist for two points.
Sophomore (2010): Saw action in eight games with a career-high three starts for the Big Green ... grabbed 10 ground balls and posted two assists ... both assists, including his first collegiate point, came against Wagner in the 18-9 win on March 11 ... became an important face-off man for the Big Green ... won 27 draws at the X ... 11 of those wins came against 10th-ranked Duke ... also had five ground balls down in Durham, N.C.
Freshman (2009): Appeared in 10 games in his first campaign with two starts ... saw significant time at Notre Dame on Feb. 28 with a season-high five ground balls and six face offs wins at the X ... finished the season with 19 wins at the center X ... posted four wins in his first career start at Vermont on March 3 ... won four more in his next start against Lehigh on March 7 ... also appeared at the X against Princeton and won four draws ... picked up 11 ground balls.
Before Dartmouth: All-American lacrosse standout at Cold Spring Harbor ... Member of three straight Nassau County Championship lacrosse teams ... Also won the same championship for the soccer team as a junior and senior, playing in goal ... captain of both squads as a senior.
Personal: Son of Domenic and Susan Del Balso ... has one sister ... father played football at McGill.
