Junior (2019-20): Season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic ... competed in the 8+ Club boat on the first day of the Head of the Charles (10/19) ... raced in the E boat at the Princeton Chase (10/27).
Sophomore (2018-19): came in sixth at the Princeton Chase in the 2V (13:28.8) ... finished second in the 4V against Holy Cross, Columbia and MIT (6:03.68) ... raced in the 3V for the Olympic Axe against Yale and finished second (5:54.5) ... finished in second in the 3V boat against BU (6:35.1) ... raced the 3V against Brown where he helped the boat to a win (6:07.9) ... raced in the 3V against Syracuse and secured a victory (6:00.7) ... sixth-place finish at the Eastern Sprints in the 3V (7:04.903) ... sixth at the IRA Nationals in the 3V boat (6:01.763).
Freshman (2017-18): Opened the season at the Head of the Charles as he rowed in the Club 8+ boat that finished ninth (15:06.594)… helped the heavy team win the Green Monster (13:59.570)… rowed in the second varsity boat that defeated Columbia (6:15.6) as well as Boston University (5:26.92)… sat in the bow seat of the second varsity, helped his boat defeat Georgetown (5:08.0)… at the Eastern Sprints Regatta he rowed in the second varsity boat that finished sixth in the Grand Final (6:17.04)… rowed in the second varsity at the IRA Regatta and helped his boat to finish fourth in the Petite Final (6:54.426).
Before Dartmouth: Four-year varsity letterwinner in downhill skiing, three-year letterwinner in heavyweight crew, and a letterwinner in soccer and cross country...captain of the varsity alpine ski team his senior year at Deerfield Academy...his heavyweight rowing team won NEIRA Championships his junior and senior year...member of the US Rowing Youth National Championship his senior year after undefeated season...his Alpine Ski team were three-time NESPAC Champions...as a senior, he was awarded the Coaches Award for heavyweight crew.
Personal: Will is the son of Charles and Sarah Sanford and has two brothers and one sister...Will is the younger brother of Dartmouth rower Henry Sanford '19...enjoys hiking and skiing...at Dartmouth he plans to study physics.
