Alex Steinroeder is entering his second season as an assistant coach with the men's tennis team in 2019. A Harvard graduate, Steinroeder worked at ATP Tour Inc. in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, before arriving in Hanover.
While with ATP Tour – a position he held since Jan. of 2017 – Steinroeder worked directly with tennis players in the ATP University, an educational program to prepare players for life on the professional tennis tour and after their playing careers are over. He also assisted the Chief Player Officer in the preparation and presentation of Player Council meetings and supported the Player Representatives on the ATP Board of Directors with various projects.
Prior to that, he spent a year in a different capacity at ATP Tour, publishing the Players' Weekly, a newsletter to communicate important information to the players.
Steinroeder has worked as an assistant tennis professional at both the Country Club of New Canaan (Summer of 2015) and the Belmont Country Club (Summer of 2013 – Summer of 2014), teaching private lessons and group clinics.
A 2015 Harvard grad with a degree in government, Steinroeder had a successful tennis career playing for the Crimson, being named co-captain (2014, 2015), an ITA Scholar-Athlete (2013-15) and helping his team reach the Round of 32 in the NCAA Championship (2012-14).
