BEFORE DARTMOUTH: Letter winner in cross country and track...senior captain of cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams...Was the individual 800M Big North Freedom Division Champion 4 years in a row. 600M Bergen County Champion junior and senior year. Named North Jersey Freshman of the Year for freshman track season. Senior year named All-American for 800M and Sprint Medley, and North Jersey Runner of the Year...Was a member of National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Michael is the son of Tom and Sally Thurston and has two brothers and one sister. He enjoys water skiing, skiing, golf, and basketball.
