Sailing - Open & Women's
vs Open NEISA Singlehanded Championship
Why Dartmouth?
After doing dozens of campus tours, Dartmouth was hands down my favorite. After my first visit here, I just knew that this was the place I wanted to end up at, so I applied early decision.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
I learned to sail recreationally at a summer program when I was 14. I have sailed leisurely around the British Virgin Islands on big boats, but I never sailed competetively until college when I walked onto the team freshman fall. I love being out on the water everyday, sailing fast, and the feeling of winning a race is pretty hard to beat.
What Sailing or Academic achievements are you particularly proud of?
Making it to the 2009 Women's Nationals in San Francisco, and placing 8th was pretty awesome.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
My elbows can kind of bend the opposite way.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
Hopefully I'll continue some summer V15 sailing after college, but I have no concrete plans. For my career, I will start work as a human resource analyst at an investment bank in New York this upcoming September.
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
I played varsity field hockey and lacrosse in high school, and participated in the student-alumni ambassador program.
