I chose Dartmouth because there is such an energetic and vibrant atmoshpere here. I didn't see the same passion for academics, friendships, and activites at any other school. Students seem to fall in love with the school their first day here and continuing raving about it as alumni.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I started rowing as a novice my freshman year at Dartmouth. A few lightweight rowers who lived on my freshman floor encouraged me to walk on the team, and I quickly came to love rowing and the women's team.
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
No.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I love wordgames of any kind. I try to get as far as I can in the daily New York Times crossword puzzles every week and I love playing Scrabble, Boggle or TextTwist.
What are your future plans, if any?
I'm really interested in working for companies and organizations that use applied economics to solve environmental problems or social injustices. I am still contemplating whether or not to go to graduate school, but I would definitely want to take a year or two off after Dartmouth to work or teach abroad.
