Women's Rowing
at Head of the Charles
Q&A with Grace Russo
Why Dartmouth?
The night I pulled into the Hanover Inn mid august before my
senior year, I knew that I found my dream school. Honestly, it was one of those
"moments." I stepped out of the car, looked across the Green at Baker Library
beaming under the spotlight, turned to my mom and said, "This is where I want
to be for the next four years." I just got an overwhelming feeling of
certainty-it was love at first sight.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about
rowing?
This is my first year rowing! Being a three-season athlete
greatly enhanced my personal growth and overall high school experience, so I
looked to find that same element in college. I joined crew because I knew that
this is probably the only time in my life where I would have to opportunity to
row, and I can't imagine a better initiation into rowing than on the
Connecticut River with the Dartmouth team!
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to
your teammates?
I am a certified deep sea/ shipwreck diver. Seriously!
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on
campus?
I am a part of MEDLIFE, Mentors Against Violence, NSS
Pre-Med Executive Committee, and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan to pursue a career in medicine. I have a strong
interest in neuroscience and definitely would like to be involved in research
in this field and incorporate it into a clinical setting.
